You know how complex a simple leaf is, but does your research reflect
that knowledge? Two instruments can give you one complete picture, inside
and out.
High throughput, low cost technique for rapid
discovery of polymorphisms in natural populations.
Screen up to 2300 samples or over 2 million
base pairs per day.
Applications include mapping, association
analysis, mutational profiling, and biodiversity.
Two color imaging eliminates false positives.
Costs a fraction of conventional resequencing
approaches.
Rapid haplotyping – SNP discovery and
haplotyping in a single step.
Long
Read DNA Sequencing
1000-1200 bases per sample.
99% accuracy at 1000 bases.
Accurate for research and rugged for classroom
demands.
Operates on demand without expensive start-up
costs after inactivity.
On-board starter software for DNA sequencing,
or comprehensive e-Seq autosequencing software
for Windows®.
Photosynthesis
Real-time measurement of carbon fixation

in vivo quantification of photosynthetic
enzyme kinetics:
RUBISCO and PEP carboxylase – primary
CO2 fixing enzymes.
RuBP regeneration – energy utilization
in the dark reactions.
Temperature regulation of kinetic rates.
Assess quantum cost of each carbon captured
(quantum efficiency).
Quantifies plasticity of photosynthetic machinery
in response to shifting environmental conditions
(light flecks, heat shock, water stress and
others).
Fluorescence
Rapid measurement of photon utilization for
electron transport in leaves.
Calculate the quantum efficiency of electron
transport in Photosystem II.
Evaluate energy lost to non-photosynthetic
processes (non-photochemical quenching).
Conductance
Monitor stomatal conductance to assess aperture

Mitochondrial respiration measured through
CO2 release.
Temperature regulation of leaf sample to
measure Q10.
Quantify soil CO2 flux from microbial and
plant roots.
LI-6400XT
Innovative Designs: First photosynthesis measurement system
with CO2 and H2O gas analyzers in the sensor head.
The LI-6400 is the most referenced photosynthesis system
in peer-reviewed scientific literature.
Integrated
Measurements: First simultaneous gas exchange and fluorescence
measurements over the same leaf area.
Chamber Variety: Interchangeable chamber configurations measure most
sizes and shapes of leaves. Also supports user-built
custom chambers.
Environmental Regulation: Software
and hardware settings allow user-defined regulation
of CO2, H2O, temperature and light.
Increased Productivity: Small chamber volumes and high flow rate allow for
rapid leaf stabilization to steady state photosynthesis.
Multiple sample facilitation through barcode reading.
Software and Graphing: Data analysis incorporated
into software makes it possible to quickly monitor
your results. Onboard diagnostic functions ensure high
quality data and internet connectivity allows for remote
monitoring and adjustment of the system.
4300
High Sensitivity: Infrared fluorescence
detection is a key advantage due to low background at infrared
wavelengths. Low background and LI-COR’s IRDye® reagents
result in a wide dynamic detection range and very high quality
data.
Independent Detection Channels: The 4300 System
features two independent detection channels that use
two separate lasers and detectors to eliminate errors
due to fluorescence overlap. Fluorescence in each channel
is separated by 100 nm.
Rugged and Reliable: The 4300
System is designed to meet demanding undergraduate
training and research environments. Features such as diode lasers
(similar to a CD player) make the instrument rugged
and dramatically reduce maintenance and operation expenses.
The instrument can also operate on demand after periods
of inactivity without any expensive start-up costs.
Comprehensive Reagents: LI-COR’s
wide ranging IRDye® reagent
kits include everything from terminators for DNA sequencing,
to kits for AFLP® expression analysis. All kits are optimized
and quality controlled to get you started quickly
and assure consistent results.
4300: What's New
DNA
Sequencing Introduction
Since their introduction more than 10 years ago, LI-COR infrared DNA sequencers
have been characterized by very long reads with high accuracy. LI-COR's latest
systems deliver 1000 - 1200 bp per sample (model 4300L) or 800 bp per sample
(model 4300S) with 99% accuracy*. More
