The Infrared Advantage4300 instrumentation, software, reagents, and applications are all part of an integrated system designed to achieve the highest accuracy. Infrared detection is a key advantage since biological contaminants, gels, and glass plates have little infrared fluorescence. WIth low background fluorescence, dye fluorescence signals are clean and strong. Infrared detection gives 4300 Systems excellent sensitivity. |

4300 Systems feature LI-COR's unique, two channel detection that eliminates errors due to fluorescence overlap. The fluorescence of the two IR dyes is separated by 100 nm. Two separate sets of optically tuned lasers and detectors measure fluorescence signals from IR dyes independently.
Underloaded or overloaded samples are accurately detected because LI-COR images use more than 65,000 grayscales per pixel (16-bit) to display the wide dynamic range of the 4300 System. Unprocessed fluorescence data are captured in TIFF image format for highest fidelity.
