Efficiency Through Automation

Using the 4300 DNA Analyzer and SAGAGT software, entire gene discovery projects can be finished in the time it used to take just to collect the data. SAGAGT eliminates traditional genotyping bottlenecks by analyzing gels in just minutes with no user interaction. Lane finding, location of sizing standards, calibration of band sizes and allele scoring are all automated. SAGAGT also automates data collection, data transfer, and includes an Oracle® database for complete project management.

Runs are started from SAGAGT software, after which the instrument takes over. The 4300 contains a mini-server that controls electrophoresis and stores gel data on its internal hard disk. The computer is not needed during electrophoresis and can be used to analyze gel images. After the run, image data are automatically transferred to SAGAGT and analysis is started.

For labs with networks, the 4300 System provides secure communications that enable a new level of collaboration on projects. If your networks are connected to the Internet, gel runs and SAGAGT projects can be accessed through the Internet, enabling collaboration on an international scale.
