DNA FootprintingAs more cDNA's are mapped and sequenced in genome projects, infrared fluorescence imaging for expression studies will prove extremely useful. DNA footprinting requires an image with high resolution to accurately determine the binding site(s) of control proteins in a promoter region. The 4300 System has unique advantages for this application, not only because of high resolution imaging, but also because of the long read lengths. With read lengths of 1000 bases or more, protein binding sites over the entire upstream control region can be detected in one experiment. |
