UPDATE to September 23, 2009 Announcement:
February 22, 2010, Lincoln, NE: The new Pearl® Impulse Imager provides real-time imaging. Near-infrared labeled-compounds with low diffusion coefficients can be visualized as they distribute to various regions of the body. Agents which diffuse slowly from the vasculature, such as IRDye® 800CW PEG, allow blood vessels to be visible for a period of time after administration. In addition, agents which are taken up by the lymphatic system can be monitored as they pulse to the nearest lymph nodes.
LI-COR Biosciences now offers two Pearl In Vivo Imaging Systems that feature unmatched sensitivity, speed, and resolution for unparalleled near-infrared imaging. Pearl systems are optimized for use with LI-COR IRDye® Infrared Dyes, the proven performers for NIR imaging at 700 and 800nm. “Combining the LI-COR Pearl Impulse’s high resolution imaging with the Pearl Impulse’s real-time imaging, agents can now be visualized dynamically as they distribute throughout an animal’s body.” says Jeff Harford, LI-COR product manager, “ The Pearl platform is highly cost-effective and uses laser illumination and dual channel, near-infrared detection for excellent sensitivity combined with the design simplicity of one-button image acquisition.”
The Pearl® Impulse Imager features a compact footprint (16” x 16” x 25”) ideal for space-conscious labs and portability. The Pearl Impulse Imager joins LI-COR’s line up of imaging systems for Western Blotting, DNA, and small animal research including the Odyssey® Imaging System and MousePOD®, which also offers researchers a cost-effective approach to in vivo small animal imaging.
