Biotechnology LI-COR Biosciences Adds Protein Array Analysis to its Growing List of Infrared Imaging Applications.Forward phase and reverse phase array techniques can now benefit from improved sensitivity, more reliable reproducibility and detect lower levels of proteins using infrared imaging. LI-COR is introducing a Protein Array Application package for its Odyssey® Infrared Imaging System. The new package includes a manual Arrayer system that can spot up to 768 spots per array on membrane coated glass slides and the Array-Pro® Analyzer 4.5 software. “Infrared fluorescence-based protein detection provides researchers with highly quantitative data even with low levels of proteins,” says Neeraj Asundi, LI-COR product manager. “The proven convenience and time saving features of our system combines with these new tools to expand the growing list of Odyssey applications to include protein array analysis.” For more information click here. The Odyssey Infrared Imaging System is uniquely equipped with two infrared channels for direct fluorescence detection on membranes with sensitivity that is equal to or better than chemiluminescence. The superior signal-to-noise ratio produced using near infrared dyes produces results not possible with traditional fluorescence-based imaging systems. LI-COR infrared systems are noted for providing superior imaging for a growing list of applications including Western Blots, In-Cell Westerns, EMSA’s, Gel Documentation and In Vivo imaging. |
