Odyssey Embedded Server Software Update

WARNING:
Only install this update in an Odyssey Classic Infrared Imaging system with a serial number below 3000.
Do NOT install in an Odyssey Classic Infrared Imaging system with a serial number of 3000 or higher.
Installation in an Odyssey Classic Imager with a serial number of 3000 or higher will render the system inoperative.

IMPORTANT: The software update requires about 100 MB on the internal hard disk. If the hard disk is too full, the oldest runs will be deleted to make room for the update, so make sure you have downloaded all images and other scan data before proceeding.

The update procedure is as follows: Please contact LI-COR Technical Support if you encounter any difficulties.

1) Use your browser to log on to the Odyssey. Click Utilities on the home page. Enter a User Name and Password with administrator rights.

2) Click the Instrument Status link and make sure the instrument is not being operated by another user.

3) Click on the Shutdown the Instrument link. Click on Shutdown Now. Wait for the Instrument to shutdown.

4) Push the power button on the front panel and wait for the Odyssey to bootup.

5) Use your browser to log on to the Odyssey. Click Utilities on the home page. Enter a User Name and Password with administrator rights.

6) Click on the User Diagnostics link. Click Run Diagnostics. Wait for the Diagnostics test to complete. The Diagnostics Results will be displayed after the test is complete. Make sure that all the tests indicate Passed and none Failed. If there are any failures, download the Diagnostics results then contact LI-COR Technical Support. Do Not Continue with the update procedure.

7) Download the Odyssey server software file from the link above and save it to your computer or network drive.

8) Click the Update Scanner Software link found in the Instrument Utilities.

9) Make sure the downloaded file from the LI-COR website is accessible on your computer or network drive.

10) Click Browse and use the standard file selection window to select the Odyssey update file. If the upload file name is not displayed, make sure that all file types are being displayed in the file selection window.

11) Click Upload. There will be a short period of inactivity while the software update file is loaded.

12) Click Install to start the software installation. When the update is complete, a report is displayed that indicates the success of the update procedure. If the update was successful, there will be a green check mark next to each update component. If there was a problem during the update, a red 'X' will be placed next to the update component that failed and a failure message will be displayed. Contact LI-COR Technical Support immediately if the update fails.

Details of the update can be examined by clicking Show Activity Log. If you have a failure during an update, save the activity log before leaving the update page. LI-COR Technical Support may ask you to e-mail or print the activity log.

13) Click on Go To Home Page. Click Utilities and then click the User Diagnostics link. Click Run Diagnostics. Wait for the Diagnostics test to complete. The Diagnostics Results will be displayed after the test is complete. Make sure that all the tests indicate Passed and none Failed. If there are any failures, download the Diagnostics results then contact LI-COR Technical Support.
