AutoScan Function
The Odyssey® CLx Infrared Imaging System offers the next generation of Odyssey imaging technology. Through its new AutoScan feature, the Odyssey CLx improves upon previous Odyssey technology with a simple user interface, a wider dynamic range, and time savings.
AutoScan Function with Image Studio Imaging Software
Figure 1. The Odyssey CLx features a new AutoScan function that eliminates the guesswork of finding the correct intensity, and the need for re-imaging data. This results in a wide dynamic range of greater than six logs, with minimized saturation. The AutoScan function makes it easy for even new users to efficiently acquire high quality data.
Figure 2. Imaging with Image Studio software features an intuitive, application-driven ribbon interface. Each ribbon displays analysis and formatting tools for user selection and implementation. For the Odyssey CLx, Image Studio supports nine different types of analyses, including Western blots, DNA gel documentation, and small animal imaging.
Benefits of AutoScan: Time
Figure 3. The new AutoScan function on the Odyssey CLx will save you and your lab the time needed to find the correct intensity setting for your scan. The above data show the process of setting 7 manual intensities before finding the correct intensity without saturation, while the AutoScan function captures all data points without saturation on the first scan. The scan performed with the AutoScan function took a total of 6 minutes, while finding the correct manual intensity in this example took more than 21 minutes, at 3 minutes per scan.
Benefits of AutoScan: Complete Dataset
Figure 4. The data above show the wide dynamic range that is achieved with the AutoScan function in the 700 nm and 800 nm channels on the Odyssey CLx. In both channels, the AutoScan function outperforms each scan made with a manual intensity setting and provides a highly sensitive, quantitative data set with a dynamic range greater than 6 logs.
