LAI-2000 Specifications

LAI-2070 Control Unit:

Sensor Inputs: 2 DB15 connectors for LAI-2050 sensor heads (multiplexed, 5 channel). 2 BNC connectors for other LI-COR radiation sensors.

Memory: 64K bytes RAM for file storage. 16K bytes RAM for working memory. File size is user determined.

File Storage Capacity: Each file requires 250 bytes, plus 30 bytes per record. Memory capacity is 64K bytes but files cannot be larger than 16K or overlap a 16K boundary. So, for example, a file with 10 records (such as 2 above and 8 below canopy readings) takes up 250 + (10 x 30) = 550 bytes. 16K of memory will hold 29 of these files, so the entire 64K memory would hold 116 files.

Keyboard: 24 key tactile response keypad with audio feedback.

Display: 2 line by 16 character LCD.

Communications: RS-232 wired as Data Communications Equipment (DCE). UART supported, baud rates of 300, 1200, 2400, 4800; 7 or 8 data bits; parity = even, odd, none; xon-xoff either on or off; hardware output handshaking with DTR pin 20 required. FV2000 Windows software is included to download data from the LAI-2000 to a PC.

Clock: Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute. Accuracy: ± 3 minutes per month.

Power Requirements: 6 alkaline "D" cell batteries.

Battery Life: 260 hours of continuous operation.

Low Battery Warning: Occurs when 15% of battery life remains.

Memory Backup Power: "D" cells power RAM for 1 year after automatic low voltage shut-off. RAM is also protected for short intervals (5 minutes) to facilitate battery changes.
