LI-820 CO2 Analyzer: a low cost, low-maintenace analyzer, designed for continuous monitoring of CO2 over a wide range of encironmental conditions

Advantages

The LI-820 CO2 Analyzer is an economical, low maintenance, gas analyzer designed for continuous monitoring applications. It is an absolute, non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) gas analyzer based upon field proven single path, dual wavelength, and thermostatically controlled infrared detection system. It can be used in a wide range of demanding environmental conditions.

Key Features:

  • Wide CO2 Measurement Range: 0-20,000 ppm
  • Wide Operating Temperature: -20° to +45°C
  • Low Power: Less than 4W after power up
  • Low Noise: Less than 1 ppm of noise @ 370 ppm
  • Real Time Corrected Readings: Sensitive on board sensors and electronics measure and correct for slight changes in cell temperature and pressure
  • User Cleanable Optics: The optical bench can be easily cleaned by the user; simply remove the source and detector headers and swab out the optical path (a cleaning kit is included with the LI-820). This reduces down-time due to contamination, and eliminates the need for factory recalibration.

New Software!

The LI-820 CO2 Analyzer has new software that allows for a continuous measurement range (0-20,000 ppm CO2) with only one optical path (14 cm). Already own an LI-820? Click here to Upgrade!

The easy to use LI-820 has dual level, configurable alarm relay outputs, making it useful for monitoring potentially high CO2 concentrations in industrial or other settings. Activated relays are indicated by LEDs on the instrument top panel.

New Software

LI-COR has recently released major updates to the LI-820 instrument software and the Windows interface software. This new software comes standard with all new LI-820s. For customers who already own an LI-820, you can click here to download the free updated software. New features include:
  • Scalable, linear DACs. Now users can scale the LI-820 outputs for increased flexibility and performance.
  • Expanded calibration range. The LI-820 now operates across the entire 0-20,000 ppm measurement range with one optical bench and with one continuous range.

The LI-820 comes with a Windows® interface software for instrument configuration, control, data collection, and display. Your choice of parameters (CO2, cell pressure, or cell temperature) can be output via fully calibrated voltage or current outputs. In addition, 0-5V alarm relay outputs can be connected to audible alarms, relay switches, automatic dialers, pumps, or valves in industrial settings. The LI-820 is connected to the computer via an RS-232 DB9 serial cable connection.

For complete integration of the LI-820 into other equipment controls for OEM applications, the instrument also features a communication protocol based on a subset of the eXtensible Markup Language (XML). XML is a simple text-based language that allows you to communicate with the LI-820 using simple text strings sent bi-directionally between your computer and the instrument over the RS-232 port. Using XML, the LI-820 can be polled for data at user-defined intervals, globally reconfigured, or configured to perform automatic calibration routines, for example.

The LI-820 is an excellent choice for OEM applications.

  • Choice of data outputs (eXtensible Markup Language (XML), RS-232, linear and scalable DACS)
  • Wide measurement range (up to 20,000 ppm)
  • User-cleanable optical bench
  • No factory recalibration required
  • Little or no maintenance needed
  • Built-in pressure and temperature sensors
  • Low and high CO2 alarm signals
  • High stability and accuracy
  • 1 ppm peak-to-peak signal noise
  • Low cost

Why the LI-820?

The LI-820 XML communication protocol provides easy integration and complete control of the analyzer through the instrument software. Automatic temperature and pressure compensation ensures accurate, stable readings over a variety of environmental conditions.

The user cleanable optical bench reduces potential down-time, and saves money, because factory cleaning and recalibration are not required. There is no need to change components or recalibrate when measuring high concentrations.

The LI-820 features intelligent high and low alarms, which activate LED indicators and electronic control signals (open drain or TTL (0-5V) output) when CO2 levels are outside a user-specified range. The alarms feature user-configurable dead-band settings to enhance regulatory feedback provided by the instrument.

Linear analog voltage, current loop, and selectable scalable DACs and digital XML interface enable users to choose the data output method that best fits your application.
