LI-COR is pleased to announce another significant step forward with the LI-6400 System – the new LI-6400XT. Rather than rest on the LI-6400’s considerable accomplishments as the undisputed market leader, LI-COR continues to innovate and enhance on a proven, familiar platform. The first new feature you’ll notice with the LI-6400XT is a small access panel that covers an expansion slot; this slot supports compact flash memory cards, or an Ethernet connector. What you may not notice is the new, faster computer inside, in the form of a 400 MHz processor on the new digital board… or the new OPEN version 6 software that runs the instrument. Upgrade Your Current LI-6400 - 6400-926 XT Upgrade Kit now available
LI-COR understands that purchasing an LI-6400 is a substantial investment, worthy of careful consideration. Knowing this, we have created a solid platform upon which we can continue to develop and improve, utilizing the latest technological advances. This is why even the earliest LI-6400s are still being used today, rather than sitting idle on a shelf; the LI-6400 was an excellent investment then, and will continue to be in the future.
So, if you’re wondering if your current LI-6400 can be upgraded to an LI-6400XT, the answer is yes. LI-COR can provide an upgrade package (part number 6400-926) that consists of a new 400 MHz digital board, and a new instrument case that provides an access door for the compact flash/Ethernet expansion slot. OPEN 6 software, revised instruction manuals, a compact flash memory card, Ethernet card adapter, and Ethernet cable are included, as well. The upgrade kit can be user installed, or the instrument can be returned to LI-COR or a LI-COR distributor for installation.
If you’re not interested in upgrading to the faster digital board and expansion slot, you can still take advantage of OPEN 6’s new features (minus the Ethernet and memory card capabilities, of course); and as always, software upgrades will continue to be free for the life of the instrument. NOTE: OPEN 6 requires 200 MHz digital board or above.
