Configuring the System
Measuring CO2 flux requires extensive
sampling because of spatial heterogeneity
of soils and temporal variation in
the environmental processes that drive
CO2 flux. The LI-8100 Windows® or
Interface Software for Palm® OS provide
intuitive settings for configuring either
single chamber or multiplexed systems
to make repeated, automated flux
measurements.
A CD and instruction manual are
packaged with the LI-8100 that contain
all of the system software and instructions
required to set-up and configure
the system, prepare a measurement
protocol, log data, and manage files:
- LI-8100 Windows® Interface Software
- Interface Software for Palm® OS
- LI-8100 Data Analysis (File Viewer) Software
- Data Analysis and Palm configuration manuals
System Software Functionality
The setup and utility functions in the
system software are easy to follow,
providing settings to:
- Connect to the system, either via wireless TCP/IP (if a wireless card is installed in the LI-8100) or via a
serial or USB connection between a PC and the LI-8100.
- View the status of the system.
- Perform user calibrations (LI-8100) and leak tests (LI-8150).
- Select and configure the chamber(s) and sensor(s) within the system. In a multiplexed system, port sequence is user-selectable.
- Configure the observation and sampling protocols for the chamber(s).
- Define and recall preset protocols to simplify configurations, and for applying to multiple chambers.
- Define file settings for logged measurements, including duration of reported data
(day or week), logging destination (onboard flash or attached flash memory card), and start measurement time (immediate or future date and time).
- View reports of measurement data, including data in tabular and chart formats, flux comparisons, and plots.
