LI-COR Environmental in Europe
In 2001, LI-COR Biosciences established a European branch office in Bad Homburg near Frankfurt (Main), Germany. A few months later a second office was launched in Cambridge, UK. Initially responsible for LI-COR's Biotech product line, the office added support for the Environmental product line in 2005. Today, the European environmental team offers the high level of professional expertise and attentive service that LI-COR is known for.
Professional Support
Our European offices provide direct sales and support for customers in Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Scandinavia. Our experienced staff provides expert advice for your applications and can assist in configuring and calibrating your instruments. Training courses for the LI-6400XT Portable Photosynthesis System and the LI-8100A Automated Soil CO2 Flux System are offered several times a year. These courses are done in small groups of around eight participants. If you are interested, please contact us.
LI-COR staff regularly participates in the most important scientific meetings and conferences in Europe, with a special focus on Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Scandinavia. We invite you to visit us at these meetings to discuss your instrumentation needs and to learn more about our instrument systems and solutions. Contact us if you think we should attend a meeting that is not listed.
We also can provide demonstrations of LI-COR instruments at your institution when possible. If you would like to have a product demonstration, contact us, or your distributor.
Calibration and Repair
Service and repairs are offered to all European customers through the Bad Hamburg office. Local distributors are still responsible for service and repairs for their customers, but all other European users may contact the office in Germany directly. Prior to sending an instrument for maintenance, calibration, or repair, please obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from your local distributor or LI-COR.
The facility in Bad Homburg is fully equipped to maintain, calibrate, and - if necessary - repair all current LI-COR instruments, from the LI-190 Quantum Sensor to the LI-8150 Multiplexer, as well as some older products. Several carbon dioxide working standards, which are traceable to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards, are used to calibrate CO2 analyzers. A US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable dew point generator is used to calibrate water vapor analyzers. All gas analyzer calibrations are fully automated and carried out in a pressure and temperature controlled environment. Radiation sensors are calibrated using a high-precision standard lamp or a set of state-of-the-art sensors, following a carefully developed calibration protocol.
