I was glad to get Eddy Pro 4.1 and try to include slow observations in the processing. I have managed to get EP to read them in alright, so that I am getting correct output in the biomet output file, but they don’t seem to be used in the processing (in the full output file, the air pressure is still the default value and calculation results are identical to those from EP3, at least within numerical uncertainty). Also, on the basic settings page, I can’t choose ambient pressure, temperature and so on in the ambient measurements section. My eddypro file is attached. My biomet data are in one external file. Thanks for any help.
the reason why the variables are not used in the calculations is the fact that you cannot choose them in the Basic Settings page (and so they don’t appear to be available to the underlying processing engine). Could you please upload a few lines (including header) of your biomet file?
Thanks, Gerado. That did it. You might update the user guide (pp 73-74 in the PDF), where it shows spaces being used in the csv format.
One other minor question with this. What is the intended difference between Global radiation and Shortwave incoming radiation? I usually think of them as the same thing, but both are available and only global is used in the processing.
The difference should be between the full (short plus long-wave) radiation and shortwave only. However, you can certainly use shortwave as global radiation, just name it Rg so that EddyPro can recognize it.
We will update the the user guide asap. Thanks a lot!
