in my data set there are some days with missing wind records presented as “NAN” in the TOB1- input file. If the planar fit approach in EddyPro 5.1.1 reaches these data it interrupts with the error message:
“Sector n. 1.. Error(33): Number of wind records for this sector is less than requested.
Planar fit results set to -9999 for this sector.”
Actually I would expect the programm to skip the “NAN”-values and continue at rows with existing wind records. Is the “NAN” a problem for the planar fit approach? Would it help to replace the “NAN”s with a numeric value such as -9999 and adapt the flag settings for wind data?
sorry for the late reply. I think the problem is related to the quotation marks, which make the value become a ‘not numeric’ one (from EddyPro’s perspective). Removing the quotation marks should suffice, as NAN, instead, is recognized.
In addition, the problem should not be related to the planar fit, but in general to the procedure of reading data in. So, you should experience the same problem if you run the software with, say, the double rotation option. Please let us know if this is the case.
