Torque for the LI-6400XT Chamber screws

When switching between the standard clamp style leaf chambers on the LI-6400 and the 6400-09 Soil Respiration Chamber or the 6400-05 Conifer Chamber, it is necessary for users to remove the chamber mounting plate. This plate mounts directly to the optical bench and provides the mounting surface for these chambers. It is held in place with eight small hex-cap screws, which, if over tightened can break off and become nearly impossible to remove from the optical bench housing.

The easiest way to prevent this from happening is hold the hex key used to install these in the vertical, rather than horizontal position when tightening the hex-cap screws. This limits the amount of torque that can be applied to the screws and helps ensure you don’t break them.
