Lecture – Measuring evapotranspiration effects on agricultural fields

LI-COR Scientist, Dr Liukang Xu, will be giving a lecture next week entitled “Physical Constraints on Evapotranspiration and Advances in Measurement System Technologies.” The lecture will take place on Wednesday, April 16, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Hardin Hall auditorium, UNL East Campus.

Understanding water use in agricultural fields and natural ecosystems is essential for water conservation. In the talk, Dr. Xu will discuss physical constraints on evapotranspiration as a major component of the water cycle. He will also cover measurement methods such as lysimetry, aerodynamic, eddy-covariance, surface renewal and others, and will detail some of the latest developments of current large-scale evapotranspiration networks.
