Instrumentation for field research must be highly flexible to meet the varying demands of researchers and environments.
The LI-7500A provides flexibility in the following ways:
The LI-7500A can be used with any sonic anemometer that provides analog outputs. This allows scientists to choose the ideal anemometer architecture and performance for their specific studies.
The LI-7500A can be mounted under the sonic anemometer or beside it, and at varying distances that are optimized for the ecosystem and instrumentation available for the project. It is important to keep the proper distance between the sonic anemometer and the gas analyzer in order to minimize wind flow disturbance by the gas analyzer on the sonic measurements.
The LI-7500A draws only 12 W of power nominally, for use in remote locations without access to mains power.

5 or 10 meter sensor head cables provide more flexibility in mounting instrument components on tripods or towers with long mounting arms. Ethernet connectivity allows for long cable lengths from the analyzer to the base of the tower so that you can access your instruments, view real time data, change configurations or download data without having to climb to the top of your tower.
Store up to16 GB of data with the USB logging feature, which allows you to log all variables at high speed for several months without the need to transfer data. This can be especially helpful at field sites that can be difficult to access regularly, or during particularly difficult weather events.
LI-7550 Analyzer Interface Unit (included) provides for USB data storage with removable flash drive, Ethernet and serial data outputs at selectable speeds of up to 20 Hz, and user-configurable Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) that output analog signals at up to 20 Hz. The LI-7550 also offers SDM communication for use with Campbell® Scientific data loggers.
Methane measurements can be added to a new or existing site by easily integrating an LI-7700 Open Path CH4 Analyzer with the LI-7500A Open Path CO₂/H₂O Analyzer. The GHG-1 Greenhouse Gas Package available from LI-COR includes an LI-7700 and LI-7500A.
