Software

The LI-840A is configured with a Windows® software application, which is provided with the instrument.

LI-840A software features include:

The configuration software is used for configuration, control, data collection, and graphical data display. Your choice of parameters (CO2, H2O, cell pressure, or cell temperature) can be output via linear voltage or current outputs. In addition, 0-5V alarm outputs can be connected to audible alarms, relay switches, automatic dialers, pumps, or valves in industrial applications. The LI-840A is connected to a computer with the RS-232 DB9 serial cable connection.

For complete integration of the LI-840A into other equipment controls for OEM applications, the instrument also features a communication protocol based on the extensible Markup Language (XML). XML is a simple text-based language that allows you to communicate with the LI-840A using simple text strings sent bi-directionally between your computer and the instrument over the RS-232 port. Using XML, the LI-840A can be polled for data at user-defined intervals, configured from remote locations, or set up to perform automatic calibration routines, for example.

Future upgrades of all LI-840A software will be available through this page.

The LI-840A software consists of instrument (embedded) and Windows® Interface Software. To avoid a configuration error upon initial connection, update both embedded (instrument) and Windows interface software.

NOTE: The LI-840 has been replaced with the LI-840A. The LI-840A Windows Interface and embedded instrument software are required for use with the LI-840A. Contact LI-COR if you would like to upgrade an existing LI-840 to an LI-840A.
