LI-6400XT Chambers & Accessories (complete list)
6400-02B
LED Light Source
6400-02B LED Light Source
The 6400-02B LED source is designed with red and blue LEDs (665 and 470 nm, respectively) to provide uniform intensities up to full sunlight (~2,000 µmol m-2 s-1) over an area of 6 cm2. Mounting simply requires replacement of the upper half of the standard leaf chamber. Powered from the LI-6400XT console, the 02B allows the light intensity to be automatically controlled, which is especially critical for response curve measurements.
6400-05
Conifer Chamber
6400-05 Conifer Chamber
The conifer chamber is constructed of acrylic for durability and lined to minimize water sorption. Long shoots (5 cm) with needles up to 3.5 cm long can be accommodated in the chamber. The 6400-05 mounts directly to the sample cell of the system's CO2 and H2O IRGAs.
6400-07
Needle Chamber
6400-07 Needle Chamber
The 6400-07 has a 2 x 6 cm aperture and is specially designed to accommodate long-needled conifers. The chamber has foam mounting pads that hold up to five needles in the chamber. The chamber top and bottom have replaceable clear Propafilm® windows for excellent light transmittance. A quantum sensor in the chamber measures light intensity at the plane of the needles.
6400-08
Clear Chamber Bottom
6400-08 Clear Chamber Bottom
The 2 x 3 cm Clear Chamber Bottom has a Propafilm® window similar to the standard chamber top and is designed for use with any 2 x 3 cm chamber top. Illuminating the bottom of a leaf may be important for survey measurements and erect foliage.
6400-09
Soil CO2 Flux Chamber
6400-09 Soil CO2 Flux Chamber
The 6400-09 is a carefully designed 9.55 cm diameter chamber for measuring soil CO2 flux using the LI-6400XT. A pressure equilibration tube, perforated manifold, and automated cycling regime ensure accurate and repeatable measurements. For more than two decades, LI-COR has been perfecting the science and overcoming the challenges of accurately measuring soil CO2 flux using chamber methods. 6400-11
Narrow Leaf Chamber
6400-11 Narrow Leaf Chamber
The 6400-11 has a 2 x 6 cm aperture and is ideal for foliage with narrow-bladed leaves. The chamber top has a Propafilm® window and a PAR sensor for light measurement at the leaf plane, while the chamber bottom is equipped with a thermocouple for measuring leaf temperature.
6400-15
Extended Reach 1 cm Chamber
6400-15 Extended Reach 1 cm Chamber
The 6400-15 Extended Reach 1 cm Chamber is designed with a 1.0 cm diameter aperture positioned 8.5 cm away from the main body of the IRGA. Both the top and bottom chambers have Propafilm® windows and leaf temperature is computed using energy balance. The chamber is useful for measuring small leaves that are tightly bunched in rosettes and difficult to clamp in conventional chambers.
6400-17
Whole Plant Arabidopsis Chamber
6400-17 Whole Plant Arabidopsis Chamber
The 6400-17 features a 7 cm diameter that allows for measurements of entire Arabidopsis rosettes. The chamber has an o-ring sealed top plate and interchangeable bottom plates that allow the use of 2.5 in. (65 mm) pots or 1.5 in. (38 mm) Cone-tainers™. The 6400-17 is easily integrated with the LI-6400/6400XT sensor head by mounting to the lower leaf-chamber manifold. Measuring whole rosettes allows for repeatable measurements for growth studies that were previously difficult to achieve without the use of custom chambers. For a lighted chamber solution utilizing the 6400-18 RGB light source, see 6400-17L.

RGB Light Source
6400-18 RGB Light Source
Designed to be used with the 6400-17 and 6400-22, the 6400-18 RGB Light Source provides a powerful tool for whole plant light response studies. The 6400-18 features LEDs with independent control of the intensity and proportions of red, green and blue. You can also define a blended color, or emulate the 6400-02B.
6400-19
Custom Chamber Kit
6400-19 Custom Chamber Kit
The 6400-19 kit contains commonly required accessories in order to interface a custom chamber to the LI-6400XT sensor head. Parts included are the sample optical path mounting plate and screws, Teflon tape, thermocouple wire and connector, exhaust air tubing, and o-rings.
6400-22L
Lighted Conifer Chamber
6400-22L Lighted Conifer Chamber
The 6400-22L Package combines the 6400-22 Opaque Conifer Chamber and the 6400-18 RGB Light Source, which are also available separately. The 6400-22 is constructed of an opaque material that has excellent resistance to water sorption. 7.5 cm long shoots with needles up to 3.5 cm long can be accommodated in the chamber, which mounts directly to the sample cell of the system's CO2 and H2O IRGAs. The 6400-18 RGB Light Source enables users to control the red, green, and blue light intensity for measurements of short-needled conifers in the field.
6400-24
Bryophyte Chamber
6400-24 Bryophyte Chamber
The 6400-24 Bryophyte Chamber allows for loose material to be held in a shallow well for gas exchange measurements. By using the 6400-18 RGB Light Source with the chamber, measurements can be made that explore both response to light intensity and quality.
6400-40
Leaf Chamber Fluorometer
6400-40 Leaf Chamber Fluorometer
The 6400-40 Leaf Chamber Fluorometer enables the simultaneous measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence and gas exchange over the same leaf area. The 6400-40 is designed with a uniform, integrated LED light source and PAM fluorometer that easily attaches to the LI-6400XT sensor head, giving the user complete control of the environment surrounding the 2 cm2 leaf area. Measurements of combined gas exchange and fluorescence expand the LI-6400XT's usefulness in assessing a plant's response to stress (read more).
6400-70
AC Module
6400-70 AC Module
The new 6400-70 AC Module allows the LI-6400XT to be powered from mains power. It consists of a transformer and a separate battery-shaped unit that fits in the LI-6400XT console. When used with a battery, the 6400-70 will trickle charge the battery, which also provides for continued operation in the event of a mains power failure.

9964-0914
Dark Adapting Clips
Dark Adapting Clips
An accessory for the 6400-40 Leaf Chamber Fluorometer that allows you to dark-adapt leaf samples is now available. Each Dark Adapting Clip consists of two "shutters", and a clip that secures the shutters over the leaf. The Dark Adapting Clip (with the shutters in the closed position) is attached to the leaf; after the leaf is fully dark-adapted, the clip is secured to the Leaf Chamber Fluorometer, the shutters are opened, and the measurement is taken. A kit including 10 clips and 10 sets of shutters is available (part number 9964-091).
6400-37
Thick Gasket Kit
6400-37 Thick Gasket Kit
Designed for use with thick, fleshy or cylindrical leaves, or leaves with thick vasculature. Thick gaskets are installed on the lower chamber to better conform around irregularly shaped leaves. An increase in distance between the lower and upper chamber halves allows the hinge to clamp evenly, reducing the risk of damage to the leaves.
