LI-COR Changes Service Support Structure for Unserviceable DNA Systems

January 21, 2008, Lincoln, NE: LI-COR Biosciences is one of the leading manufacturers of DNA sequencing instrumentation, including the company's current, fourth generation system, the Model 4300.

Service on LI-COR's second-generation Model 4200 system will be discontinued beginning January 1, 2009. Service continues to be available for Model 4200 Global and the current Model 4300 systems.

LI-COR DNA systems have consistently provided the longest sequencing read lengths in the industry, and have helped researchers pursue a wide variety of genetics research through applications such as microsatellites, AFLP®, TILLING®, and Ecotilling. More recently LI-COR systems have proven to be a critical component in helping colleges focus on inquiry-based learning. The systems help undergraduate students involved in genuine research projects, leading them to a significantly higher interest level in science than traditional text book learning.
