LI-COR Introduces Docking Station and Clean Box for Small Animal Imaging System
February 24, 2009, Lincoln, NE: LI-COR Biosciences introduces two new accessories for its Pearl® Imaging System providing researchers with additional functionality when preparing mice for imaging. The Pearl Docking Station is a stand-alone unit that provides heat and anesthesia to a Pearl removable imaging bed or the new Clean Box accessory.
"The small footprint of the docking station fits into traditional laminar flow hoods," says Jeff Harford, LI-COR senior product manager. "This allows the user to prepare and position the mouse for imaging. The Clean Box allows immunocompromised mice to be transported from the docking station clean area to the Pearl Imager in a HEPA-filtered, closed system."
The Pearl Imager is designed and optimized for animal imaging. User load a mouse in its unique imaging drawer, push the close button, and in 30 seconds obtain properly exposed, multi-color images on the first attempt. The Pearl has an inlet and outlet port for the gas anesthesia system, a rotometer to control flow rate, and a charcoal filter to remove isoflurane from the exhaust stream.
