LI-COR Introduces New RGD Optical Probe for In Vivo Imaging Applications
February 26, 2009, Lincoln, NE: IRDye® 800CW RGD Optical Probe is fluorescent imaging agent designed for use in the study and/or monitoring of diseases related to the αvβ3 receptor over-expression. RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) is a tripeptide sequence used to bind integrin receptors including αvβ3. Integrins are cell surface heterodimeric glycoproteins involved in cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions.
"Researchers studying integrin receptor expression in tumors will find RGD an excellent choice for In Vivo imaging," says Jeff Harford, LI-COR senior marketing product manager. "We are continuing to expand our offerings of our IRDye Infrared Dyes for molecular imaging applications for use with our Pearl® Imager and other molecular imaging systems.
