LI‑COR Sponsors LabCentral with Odyssey® Instrumentation
May 1, 2014, Lincoln, Nebraska: LI‑COR® Biosciences donated two instruments for use at the innovative LabCentral shared laboratory space. LabCentral is designed as a launchpad for high-potential life-sciences and biotech startups. This lab now has an Odyssey CLx Infrared Imaging System and an Odyssey Fc Dual-Mode Imaging System for infrared and chemiluminescent use.
"We are thrilled to welcome LI‑COR to our growing list of LabCentral sponsors, dedicated to our mission of creating the next generation of great life sciences companies," says Johannes Fruehauf M.D., Ph.D., LabCentral president. "We appreciate LI‑COR’s support as we add even more components to our fully equipped lab."
The Odyssey CLx Imager offers two-channel infrared detection with accurate quantification and high sensitivity. The dual-mode Odyssey Fc Imager offers two-channel infrared detection, as well as chemiluminescent Western blot imaging and DNA gel documentation capabilities. Both instruments offer a wide dynamic range to accurately detect strong and weak signals on the same Western blot.
"LI‑COR is honored to be sponsoring LabCentral as it begins its premier laboratory facility in support of the next generation of powerhouse biotech start-ups," says Jeff Harford, LI‑COR senior marketing product manager. "The Odyssey instrumentation will be key to all researchers who need quantitative, reproducible results for Western blotting, cell-based assays, and a wide range of other protein-related techniques."
LI‑COR Biosciences is a leading manufacturer of near-infrared and chemiluminescent imaging platforms, analysis software, and IRDye® infrared dye reagents for quantitative Western Blotting, small animal imaging, and DNA fragment analysis.
