It is designed as a resource for current information on cancer prevention, support and research. Monthly updates will include national and international cancer observances, as well as a featured organization that provides cancer support, advocacy or research. Relevant publications that cite data from LI-COR instruments and reagents are also highlighted.
"This page offers information regarding prevention and risk factors for many cancers, as well as organizations that have joined the fight against this disease," says Samira Mahboub, LI-COR marketing specialist. "In an effort to help in the understanding of many aspects of cancer, we created this page to expand our reach beyond the scientific community."
LI-COR has been a partner in cancer research since the Odyssey® Infrared Imaging System opened the door for highly sensitive, quantitative infrared imaging to study the role of a variety of proteins in signaling pathways and disease progression. LI-COR Biosciences'Translational Research group is working to facilitate the use of IRDye® 800CW infrared imaging agents in clinical studies for real-time, intraoperative imaging for tumor resection.
