HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies now available from LI-COR

LI-COR Biosciences adds peroxidase conjugates to growing line of Western blotting reagents; conjugates are optimized for conversion of chemiluminescent Westerns to Odyssey® near-infrared fluorescent detection

July 22, 2009, Lincoln, NE: LI-COR Biosciences announces the addition of goat anti-mouse and goat anti-rabbit secondary antibodies labeled with horseradish peroxidase. These HRP conjugates are optimized for use with new Chemi-IR Detection kits a bridging technology that converts familiar chemiluminescent Western blots to quantitative detection with near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence. Chemi-IR kits supply rabbit anti-HRP antibody conjugated with the IRDye® 800CW fluorophore, and optimized antibody diluents. The kits enable researchers to perform NIR fluorescent detection on Western blots incubated with HRP-conjugated secondary antibody.

"These conjugates work well for chemiluminescent Western blot detection with a variety of commercial substrates," says Tony Endozo, LI-COR product manager. "They are also specifically optimized for use with Chemi-IR detection and LI-COR Biosciences" Odyssey Infrared Imaging and Aerius Automated Infrared Imaging Systems, instruments that have set a new standard for quantitative Western blotting, In-Cell Western and On-Cell Western cell-based assays, and many other applications."
