Protein Ladders (Molecular Weight Markers)

A protein marker (also called a protein molecular-weight (MW) marker or protein ladder) is used to estimate the size of proteins resolved by gel electrophoresis.

LI‑COR pre-stained protein markers offer a range of options for a variety of protein gel applications.

  • These markers are optimized for use with LI-COR imaging systems but can be used with other imagers.
  • Pre-stained protein markers are visible on the gel during the run, so you can monitor protein migration.
  • Markers are also used to monitor transfer efficiency from gel to blotting membrane.
