May 22. 2008 - Lincoln, NE

The Midwest International Trade Association (MITA) named LI-COR Biosciences the 2008 Exporter of the Year at its 40th annual meeting on May 20, 2008. MITA makes the awards based on nominations that review a company’s vision, innovation, and outstanding performance in “an ever changing, globally competitive market,” says Jim Grewe, MITA president.

LI-COR is recognized for its long-term growth and for its success in developing a business model with a key focus on exports. “We have had consistent growth in export sales since the company started in 1971 and these sales represent a significant portion of overall total sales,” says Larry Middendorf, LI-COR vice-president of sales and marketing-environmental.

Middendorf accepted the award on behalf of LI-COR from Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman.
