Eligibility

  1. Open to anyone age 19 and older with a valid and active email address.
  2. Must be currently engaged in active research involving agronomy, ecophysiology, climate change modeling, controlled environment agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, or similar disciplines, as witnessed by recent publications or affiliation with a private or public research institution or corporate entity involved in the aforementioned research disciplines.
  3. Employees and immediate family members of LI-COR, Inc. and its distributors are not eligible.

How to Submit Request to be a Field Test Site

  1. To participate, entrants must complete a printed application form, or an electronic application form on the LI-COR website at: www.licor.com/600fieldtest
  2. Only one (1) entry per person and/or email address is allowed. Entries will be accepted from 2 September, 2020 until midnight CST 28 February, 2021.

Field Test Site Selection Process

  1. Two test sites will be selected from all eligible entries once a month through March, 2021, on the first Monday of each month during this offer.
  2. Loan of the LI-600 will be awarded to the research institution or corporate entity named on the entry form on the date of completion.
  3. Selected sites will receive the use of one LI-600 (“Instrument”) for 7 days after receipt of the Instrument, subject to LI-COR’s standard terms, warranty and conditions, which are incorporated by reference herein.
  4. Instrument will be shipped free of charge to the selected test site destination. If the recipient is located outside of the USA, the Instrument will be shipped with a Carnet but the recipient is responsible for the customs clearance process and any applicable fees.
  5. After completion of 7-day trial period, LI-COR will pay for return shipping to Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.
  6. If the Instrument is not returned at the appointed time, the institution will be charged for the full price of the Instrument unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by LI-COR, in writing.
  7. Selected test sites agree to make every effort to return the Instrument to LI-COR in the same condition as it was received.
  8. Selected test sites agree to provide a brief written statement describing their experience with the LI-600, including information on research location, type of plants/crops measured, and royalty-/copyright-free photos of the Instrument being used at the test site.

Notification of Selected Field Test Sites

  1. Selected sites will be notified by email. LI-COR is not responsible for lost or late email notifications. If the selected site does not respond to the email within seven days after notification is sent, the selection will be forfeited. A replacement selection will occur in the event of a forfeited selection.
  2. LI-COR shall implement reasonable means to select sites and may in their absolute discretion disqualify any test site if it is determined that delivery of the LI-600 appears to violate any law or other requirement imposed by the country or political subdivision that has jurisdiction over the selected test site.
  3. LI-COR Biosciences reserves the right to disclose selected test site’s name/identity. The selected site and individual submitting the application agree to allow his/her name, photo, institution and physical location to be used on any advertising or promotional media.

General

  1. The Selection Process is governed by specific rules as set forth herein, and by entering an application to participate, each participant agrees to be subject to those rules.
  2. This program consists of the temporary LOAN of the Instrument system to selected site for a defined period of time.
  3. Be advised that the LI-600 is or may be subject to U.S. Export Controls; and, it may not be exported into (or to a national or resident of) Cuba, Syria, Sudan, North Korea, Iran, Crimea Region of Ukraine, or any other country to which the United States has embargoed goods, or anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S. Commerce Department's Table of Deny Orders. If you are selected as a test site and the use of a LI-600 you represent and warrant that the Instrument will not come to rest in any country on any such list.
  4. In submitting an application form to be considered as a test site, each entrant represents and warrants to LI-COR that the information is true, accurate, current, and complete. All such submissions are governed by LI-COR’s Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at: www.licor.com/privacy
  5. With respect to shipment of the LI-600 to the field test site designee, wherever they may reside, title and risk of loss shall pass to the selected site/institution upon delivery of the Instrument to the common carrier and selected site assumes full responsibility for implementing sufficient procedures and checks to satisfy the legal requirements of the jurisdictions in which they reside to accept the LI-600 for the trial period.
  6. Selected test site should notify LI-COR promptly if any flaw or defect is found on the Instrument after receipt of delivery. They will also promptly notify LI-COR of any damage to the Instrument during the trial period. Selected test site assumes and bears entire risk of loss, damage (reasonable wear and tear excepted), injury, theft and destruction of the Instrument from any cause whatsoever.
  7. Ownership of the loaned LI-600 will be retained by LI-COR.
  8. Any dispute regarding this process shall be brought in the Federal and or state courts located in Lincoln, Nebraska, and shall be governed by Nebraska law.
