A complete open path eddy covariance system, the EddyFlux System includes an LI-7500DS analyzer, a Gill WindMaster sonic anemometer, and the SmartFlux System.

Customize to fit your needs

The EddyFlux System includes everything you need for a basic eddy covariance station, but you can customize the system for nearly any scenario: add methane measurements, choose the LI-7200RS Enclosed CO2/H2O Analyzer, choose a high-performance sonic anemometer, or add a biomet system.

Step 1. Choose a Gas Analyzer

Gas Analyzers

Open path and enclosed path CO2 and H2O gas analyzers for basic eddy covariance systems. Add the LI-7700 for methane flux measurements.

LI-7500DS Open Path CO2/H2O Analyzer

Low power requirements and simple hardware at a low price. Precision, temperature-controlled optical filters make this gas analyzer the highest performing open path CO2/H2O gas analyzer available.

LI-7200RS Enclosed CO2/H2O Gas Analyzer

An enclosed optical path with precision, temperature-controlled optical filters provide dependable gas density measurements—including dry mole fraction—in the most challenging outdoor environments.

LI-7700 Open Path CH4 Analyzer

The LI-7700 adds methane flux measurements to eddy covariance systems. Methane data are time-synchronized and logged in eddy covariance data sets. Methane flux results are computed in real time on the SmartFlux System.

Step 2. Choose a Sonic Anemometer

Sonic Anemometers

Each EddyFlux system includes the Gill WindMaster, but you can upgrade the anemometer to the WindMaster Pro, R3-50, or HS-50. In addition, the EddyFlux System can log digital data from the CSAT3 or CSAT3B.

Step 3. Choose a Biomet System Package

Biomet System and Sensors

Each EddyFlux system supports a full complement of biological and meteorological (biomet) sensors through an external system. Data from these sensors are time-synchronized with measurements from the gas analyzer and sonic anemometer and logged in eddy covariance data files, so they can be used for gap filling and to interpret flux results. Biomet measurements are summarized with EddyPro output and can be evaluated independently of the eddy covariance data set.

The cellular communication modules use a rugged Sierra Wireless™ AirLink® LS300 or Hongdian H7921 wireless gateway to put your eddy covariance system online. When your system is online, you can check the status of instruments, transfer raw data from your site automatically or whenever desired, and configure the instruments from your office or home computer.
