LINCOLN, Neb. - LI-COR today announced the release of three new HOBO® data loggers: the MX2307A Temp/RH & Soil Moisture Logger, MX2310 Temp/RH, PAR & Soil Moisture Logger, and MX2311 Temp/RH, Solar & Soil Moisture Logger. Each logger delivers a more comprehensive view of plant, soil, and environmental conditions in a single, integrated platform across agricultural, research, and environmental monitoring applications.

The MX2307A is designed for irrigation management, agricultural, turf, research, and related applications. As the next evolution of the MX2306 Soil Moisture Data Logger and MX2307 Soil Moisture and Temperature Data Logger, it integrates LI-COR soil moisture sensing technology to deliver direct soil moisture measurements alongside other key environmental factors. This allows users to move into more precise water management using actual soil condition data.

The MX2310 and MX2311 extend this approach by incorporating light measurements into their platforms. The MX2310—optimized for greenhouse and indoor growing environments—measures photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) to help users manage lighting and irrigation together. The MX2311—designed for outdoor and field applications—measures solar radiation to help users track environmental drivers that influence crop performance across seasons.
In addition, all three loggers combine air temperature and relative humidity (RH) measurements with electrical conductivity (EC), volumetric water content (VWC), and soil temperature. Together, these measurements provide a clearer picture of how water, light, and climate interact, which ultimately helps users make more informed irrigation and crop management decisions.
“Understanding the environmental factors that influence crop growth, health, and yield requires more than a single measurement,” said Tom Reslewic, CEO of LI-COR. “With these new data loggers, users can capture multiple key conditions in a single deployment, giving growers better insight into how their environment is affecting plant performance and helping them make more informed management decisions.”

By combining multiple critical measurements into one device, the MX2307A, MX2310, and MX2311 reduce the need for managing separate sensor systems. This simplifies deployment while lowering system complexity and expenses—ultimately enabling more scalable monitoring across greenhouses, vertical farms, field sites, and research programs. All three loggers are Bluetooth®-enabled, allowing users to configure devices and offload data wirelessly using the HOBOconnect® app. Their rugged, weatherproof designs support long-term deployments across a wide variety of indoor and outdoor environments and applications.
“Many of our customers are trying to answer similar questions: how much water is needed, how fast are conditions changing, and what conditions are helping or hurting plant performance,” said Mamadou Ba, Senior Director of Product Management at LI-COR. “These loggers help us answer those questions with ease and confidence, whether they're deployed in a greenhouse, vertical farm, field, research site, or anywhere else.”
As part of the HOBO portfolio, these new data loggers build on a long history of reliable environmental monitoring solutions. With expanded measurement capabilities and simplified workflows, they provide a practical path for users looking to gain stronger insights into plant and soil conditions without increasing workload or system complexity.
