Communications, Mounting, and Power Equipment

LI-COR eddy covariance systems can be equipped with wireless and satellite communications, solar power supplies, and mounting equipment for your sensors and communications modules.

Cellular communications

The Cellular Communication System features a Sierra Wireless AirLink® RV50 gateway that puts your system online for wireless transmission of eddy covariance, soil gas flux, and other data.

When your system is online, you can check the status of your instruments, transfer raw data from your site, and configure the instruments from your office or home computer.

For ultimate synchronization of data, the cellular communication system includes an 8-port ethernet network switch that allow users to integrate multiple devices, such as the LI-7700 methane analyzer, LI-8100/A automated soil flux systems, communication modems, dataloggers, etc. The switch is DIN rail-mountable for easy integration into a LI-COR enclosure.

Satellite communications

The Satellite Communication System features a Hughes 9502 Fixed Satellite Terminal that provides alternative remote communications if your site is not in range of a cellular network.

The satellite system includes an antenna, antenna cable, antenna mounting post, power and data cables, enclosure, mounting hardware, and instructions to configure your gas analyzer and communication system.

Solar power supply

LI-COR solar power systems are robust power sources designed to provide 4 dark-days of operation to your eddy covariance systems.

These 24-volt systems provide power with greater efficiency than 12-volt systems, which is well-above the minimum voltages for most of the instrumentation. LI-COR solar power systems are supplied by SunWize Technologies and are delivered ready for deployment. A DC-to-DC converter is available for 24-to-12 VDC conversion for instruments that require 12 VDC.

Specifications

Systems are available in 25, 40, 50, and 65-watt configurations for locations with 1.5 or more sun hours. Contact a sales representative to determine which system is best for your instrument setup and location.

Typical system includes:

  • Solar panel array
  • Lead-acid batteries
  • Vented enclosure
  • Charge controller
  • Solar panel power cables
  • Solar panel mounting hardware
  • Assembly hardware
  • Instruction manual
  • 7900-231 Power Distribution Box

The 7900-231 Regulated Power Distribution Box is ideal for any LI-COR 24-volt solar power supply. It connects directly to the power supply and provides six unregulated outputs with power output equal to power supplied and two regulated 12-volt outputs.
