Description Part number
Pump assembly (1) 9980-042
Mounting screws (2) 150-14477

Installation

You'll need a #1 or #2 Phillips screwdriver and a utility knife or clipper. The installation may take an experienced technician about 30 minutes. If the instrument has been running, let it cool for 5 or 10 minutes if before starting. To install the pump:

  1. Power off the gas analyzer and remove the top cover.
  2. It is held in place by 6 screws on the top panel. Loosen the screws and lift off the cover. Be careful not to strain the ribbon cable that connects to the top panel. You can disconnect it from the top circuit board if needed.
  3. Carefully cut the air outlet tube, as indicated.
  4. Make the cut perpendicular to the tube, being careful to make a clean, smooth cut.
  5. Remove the back two screws (indicated) that secure the circuit board to the case.
  6. Set the screws aside for safekeeping.
  7. Set the pump assembly in place.
  8. It will fit tightly. Lower it gently so that you do not drop it onto the circuit board. Be sure that the pump ribbon cable is not wrapped under the pump assembly.
  9. Install the 4 mounting screws to secure the pump assembly.
  10. Plug in the ribbon cable.
  11. The cable connector is labeled PUMP PCA on the main circuit board. Tubes and connectors are not shown for clarity.
  12. Install the tubes on the quick-connect fittings.
  13. Firmly press the tube into the fitting until it is seated in the fitting.
  14. Re-attach the case top cover.
  15. Reconnect the display ribbon cable if you removed it. Tighten the six screws that hold on the top cover.

The pump replacement is complete. Power on the instrument and test the pump to be sure it is operating as expected.

Note: The pump will not run until the optical bench is warmed up, which may take a few minutes after powering on the instrument.

Resetting the pump hours

The instrument records the number or operating hours for the pump. You should reset this count after installing or replacing the pump. Connect with the instrument using the software and then click Settings > Diagnostics and click the gear button near Pump, and then reset the hours.
